Here you go asking questions with answers that don't end. I won't try to speak for Jae.

Ayn Rand, authoritarian bohemians

What a phrase. I have been a wannabe bohemian. I could never quite do it, though, go all the way. I think its because my upbringing was in many ways traditional, rural, Midwestern. That might also be why I am a wannabe bohemian. When it comes down to it, though, I'm too conventional and risk averse. That's not bad. It's probably good. I've found it a little disappointing at times to admit it to myself.

A focus on family and home is part of my makeup, and that part has been strengthened, for sure, by having a child. And since having James, it seems as if family and home life suck up all time, so there is just is no room for much else. I need to work on that some. To some extent, that's just the way it is, but I admit it gets claustrophobic sometimes. The photography has been my main way of making some breathing room.

On the other hand, on an average of 3 days a week, James goes with one of us to Albuquerque's premier bohemian/neo-hippy/whatever coffee shop, Winning Coffee Company. It turns out to be one of the most kid friendly places around. Depending on what conversations you are OK with your kid overhear, I suppose. When he can really understand, we might have to stay off the patio, where the real iconoclasts hang.

This is a rambling non-answer. Yes, it has changed.Josh Gentryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02755754490724080605noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8341026.post-78353067910973568732008-12-31T08:54:00.000-08:002008-12-31T08:54:00.000-08:00Very cute.
