Pumpkin Carving -- 2009
I had one shot left on the roll of film. That is a drawback of film. Not bad, though. Pumkin carving at Jae's folks house. He enjoyed it until we took them out in the dark and put candles in them. Then he was terrified.
I think his Mom enjoyed it ;-)

Toni is gone
I don't know any details except that she passed away at 12:46 PM yesterday. I had my phone off yesterday when her parents tried to call and tell me, so I found out later via text message. She was a very alive person. Liked to have fun, had a tendency to get into trouble, was a real sweetheart to me and my family. A day for grieving.

Bosque Sunflowers
Yet another bosque sunflowers picture, Josh style. It had been a rough day, and in between work and dinner out with family, I stopped in the Bosque for little walk. Just before dusk. Did me a world of good. Had my camera.

Passing glance
Done recently for a photo game/competition on Flickr, Flickr Island. Voted off in the first round. But it motivated me to take a few pictures I ended up liking. Thanks to Jae for being a sport and modeling.

Grandma Gentry made a quilt
Jae caught this moment to share with my Mom. My Mother is a very fine quilter. I still have the one she made me. This is the one she made James. He's sitting on it pointing out all the bunnies. He sleeps with every night now that its gotten chilly.

Home Guard
I published this one to Facebook with the title, My Hero. On my Flickr stream its titled, Home Guard. She is those things, and more. In many ways we've become adults together. She's got my back. I've got hers. In her transition to the role of Home Maker, she amazes me.
Occasionally I publish something on Flickr that I feel might be "too sexy" for my blog. If you click on this picture it'll take you to my Flickr stream, and there are two more pictures of Jae with sword. I like them, but they fall in that category. Your call.

William W Chaney
We go to this cemetery every Memorial Day. There are many military graves, and we put flowers on graves for soldiers with the names of veterans in our families who have passed on. William is one of those names. As is James.

My partner
I'd be lost without this woman.
At James' first Birthday party. Which Jae totally made happen. It was dark in there. The print of this is underexposed and yellowish. Corrected that some in GIMP.

There's water in the canyons
Hold On Real Tight
There's water in the canyons
And rain up in the hills
There's a rushing in the rivers
And lovers stranded up at the old mill
Wrap your arms around your baby
Hold on real tight
Ward against the Devil's laughter
And the witching light
There's a wind in the willows
And the sun gutters like a torch
Shadows race across the prairie
And silouettes watch from the porch
There's rain on the tin roof
And the creaking of the swing
Two bodies warm the chill evening
Water in the gutter sings
Wrap your arms around your baby
Hold on real tight
Ward against the Devil's laughter
And the witching light
The old mill leaks like a sieve
And the roads are turned to mud
Wet hair hangs in her eyes
And rain pounds in your ears like blood
Wrap your arms around your baby
Hold on real tight
Ward against the Devil's laughter
Beware the thief in the night
There's water in the canyons
And rain up in the hills
There's a rushing in the rivers
And lovers stranded up at the old mill
Wrap your arms around your baby
Hold on real tight
Ward against the Devil's laughter
And the witching light

It's only the giving that makes you what you are
I know most of you who read this blog are either shavees or will have already pledged another shavee. That's cool, I'm not looking to reach those who are already participating. But if you haven't given yet, and you find it in your heart and pocket book to do so, there is not better cause. Click the image above to go to my shavee site.
I've just assumed that you know what St. Baldrick's is. From www.stbaldricks.com:
St. Baldrick's is the world's largest volunteer-driven fundraising event for childhood cancer research. Thousands of volunteers shave their heads in solidarity of children with cancer, while requesting donations of support from friends and family.
At a St. Baldrick's event, something amazing happens. People who normally shy away from the very thought of childhood cancer find themselves compelled to support this cause after looking into the face of these brave children who are smiling broadly as their friends and family members proudly display their newly shorn heads.
Volunteers and donors see it can be fun to support a serious cause. Young cancer patients and survivors see how many people care. And researchers see St. Baldrick's funds helping to find cures!

Musical finds
Yes, its another Singer/song writer singing about Texas. But this one is Australian. Fred Smith and his song, "Texas."
I had trouble deciding which of the Sean Hayes songs to post. The scales tipped to this one on the line,
"Here the sparks in your mind, building flames for to trace your desire"
Sean Hayes and "Flowering Spade"
