I'm smug about engineering that water cupped in the petal.
The water is neat inside the petal. I was noticing that I remember this as a yellow picture, which is kind of funny.
I was noticing that I remember this as a yellow picture, which is kind of funny.:-) Thats a brilliant observation, Jim. I have a lousy grasp on color as a part of composition, so if I make most of the picture neutral and/or desaturated, and I have one saturated color, maybe I can handle it. And that color dominates.
Vectoring off of this discussion, I made thisKind of by accident I made this which I like most of all.
I like the one where you turned everything but the petal B & W. I might even like it better than the original. I can't say I like the other. I have a bias against purple, though. Unless its a flower, it shouldn't be purple.
Is that because purple is a satanic color?
That goes without saying.
BTW, if you like any of the modifications I do, feel free to grab them, recreate them or ask me about them. Mostly when we talk about this stuff, I do my edits just to show you the general flavor of my thoughts. If you wanted a real print of something I've desaturated, or whatever, let me know.Another great reason for photoshop is just this kind of thing: it allows us to do a sort of group experimentation for certain exposures.
